If you are anything like me, then you are likely to use Microsoft Office for most work. However I came across some Google Apps that will allow me to synchronise work I do in Microsoft Office programs with Google’s various applications.
In fact, there are a number of add-ons that will enable this. For instance, if you are an avid user of Outlook (I’m not, but you may well be), then get hold of a copy of Xobni, or if you want more power, try CompanionLink for Outlook. The first is free, while the latter has a free trial period. Both, however, are able to synchronise contact, calendar information and other tasks between Google and Outlook.
If you want to be able to connect Microsoft Office with Google Docs, then try out Google Cloud Connect for Microsoft. The name is a bit of a mouthful I know, but it is free to download. After installing, the application leaves a toolbar at the top of the Office document. When it’s time to synchronise with Google Docs, you simply click the Sync button.
For those people who use Powerpoint presentations a lot, then Sideboxx prime could just be the ticket. It isn’t free, but there is a trial period available.
Duplicate Remover for Excel does just that – it removes duplicate excel worksheets at the touch of a button. At just $30 (about £20) it could prove a very useful tool.
Finally, others that I think are worth a look include PocketKnife Peek, which improves email security, and Office Tab Free for adding tabs.
