I recently started to look at the various services offered by Google. To be honest, I never realised that the comprehensive list is huge in comparison to, say, Microsoft.
To say Google wants your business is an understatement. The company is certainly going for an all out push to get its target market on board, and as quickly as possible. What’s more, the business is not confining itself to home, namely the USA, although this is probably getting the lion’s share of the Google Apps for business marketing treatment. The UK site is here.
The latter will be demonstrated over the coming months when the results of its Get Your Business Online tour is analysed.
The tour is a kind of travelling circus whereby experts will be giving seminars and workshops across the USA to help small business owners get information and advice about setting up their companies online and using Google Apps.
Coaching will be freely available with business people being taught how to use a variety of Google tools. The experts will demonstrate such applications as Google Analytics, Google Places and AdWords. The latter will be extremely useful to small businesses seeking to get into the international market place.
It doesn’t stop there, however. I believe Google has managed to team up with the well known accountancy software company, Intuit. This has enabled them to offer companies a sweetener of free web hosting.
All in all, Microsoft could have a lot to learn from Google.
