Free App Of The Day

Amazon held a free app of the day last Saturday. If you didn’t know about it, like me, then you are out of luck – particularly if you like games such as Trial Xtreme 2 Winter.

That said, I’m not sure if this free offer was applicable those who live in the UK. If it wasn’t, perhaps Amazon will do something similar for UK based customers. I hope so, as I use Amazon a lot, although I haven’t bought any Adroid apps or any other app from the company’s app store. If I could get the chance to download something suitable for free, it would be worth looking at.

Then again, the particular app on offer is priced at about 55p ($0.99) so, for that price, I wonder whether it was worth it.

What about the application itself? Personally I am not into games, but this game is designed to ‘satisfy the adrenaline junkie in you by bringing some extreme dirt biking to your Android device’. The description continues: ‘Trial Xtreme 2 Winter is the sequel to the Trial Xtreme series, updated with 30 new levels. Each level is set in a cold, snowy environment with improved graphics, realistic physics, and an intuitive tilt-control system using your phone’s accelerometer.”

Amazon got into hot water last year by calling its online application shop the Amazon Appstore. Apple did its usual and took the company to court because it believed that the phrase ‘app store’ was a trade marked description of its own online shop.

Luckily for everyone, Apple lost this case.
