Now an app for the shoe-aholic

If you like shoes and want to show them off to your friends, there is now an application that will allow you to do that.

In fact, from what I gather if you are real anorak about shoes then this could be really useful, especially if you are short of money.  In other words, you can take a photo of shoes you would like to buy, send it to your friends and ask them to chip in to help you buy them.

This is apparently a new idea that’s being floated around places such as the Philippines at the moment.  It’s called ambagan, and it isn’t confined to just shoes; many products can now be social networked like this, I believe.

The new software is an Android application and is a new idea developed by Smart Communications Inc., which has apparently been helping others to get their ambagan ideas created, via its Smart Developer Network.

Speaking with philstar.com, Smart’s Strategic Business Development Head Alex Ibasco said: “Contribution-type applications can increase the revenue stream of entrepreneurs and developers by tapping the popularity of social networking activities nowadays.  We see Facebook users helping their friends win online promos by ‘liking’ photos.  Chipping in for purchases is an extension of this willingness to help.”

He added: “Through the Smart and WAC connection, local developers and businesses can reach out to a broader market.”

The app is called Make Me Shoephoric apparently, and is available to download for free from Android Play.
