MYOB Atlas is a website builder, which according to the company will get any business up and running within as little as 15 minutes.
Features include an easy to use interface allowing businesses to add news items as well as sell items via PayPal. The link up with Google also helps, I believe, in improving search engine rankings on Google Search. There is also a facility to make use of social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Interestingly, users are able to try out the website builder for free for the first 12 months. Afterwards clients pay a relatively small monthly fee.
The link up with Google also helps MYOB get involved more strongly with cloud computing. In fact, the company says that it was this link up, in particular Google Apps for Business, which inspired the firm to look at expanding its customer base into New Zealand. MYOB is an Australian-based company.
A company spokesperson told itweb.co.za that while MYOB already has over 170,000 customers there are 450,000 businesses in New Zealand that give the firm great scope to expand.
Moreover, according to recent research it seems 80% of New Zealanders look online for products or services, but only 32% of businesses have a dedicated website. This is a missed opportunity that MYOB hopes to capitalise on.
